This guitar is especially significant as one of the last instruments personally painted by Tom Murphy, whose legendary finish work helped define the Murphy Lab aesthetic; Murphy is no longer painting Gibson instruments, making this piece highly collectible. The Kindred Burst finish captures a rich, sun-soaked gradient reminiscent of classic late-’50s Les Pauls, beautifully accentuated by the Ultra Heavy Aged treatment, which reproduces decades of wear, lacquer checking, edge fading, and subtle patina, giving the guitar a lived-in, historically resonant appearance. The construction follows the iconic 1959 Les Paul blueprint.
